The Denver Chronicles

Hello Denver,

My name is Carrie, and I am from Michigan. I am a little bit extrovert and a little bit introvert. I graduated with a liberal arts degree in Communications and am offering up any and all of my skills, should you choose to accept them. I organize, socialize, hypothesize, prioritize, colorize and as a job seeker am now trying to specialize. Nice to meet you, let’s keep in touch.

So, with my midwestern attitudes and hiking-biking-climbing leanings, this venture commences: now.

My approach to getting to know new cities thus far has been to go to the hub of conversation, the place where the relaxed, the busy, yuppies, homeless, young, old, human (and canine) go–a place to observe the mysterious species called Folka localis–the coffee shop.

First stop: Dazbog coffee. Apparently this local franchise started by Russian immigrant entrepreneurs is giving Starbucks a run for their money around here. Go Anatoly and Leonid! Appropriately designed with a red color scheme and coffees named after Soviet jargon (my favorite name is KGBlend), no one can deny that this place has character.

Mmm besides good coffee, a signature Red Velvet cupcake is a great idea. It even makes communist-colored crumbs.
